Mangos are one of the most widely consumed fruits in the world! This tropical fruit from the cashew family is deliciously sweet and fully fragrant with over 1000 varieties. It has been named "the king of fruits".

Mangos are seen as a gift from the gods, embodying sweetness, purity and enlightenment. The mango is believed to symbolize love, harmony and spiritual nourishment in Asian cultures. The high vitamin C content in mangos helps support the body’s natural collagen production. The high antioxidant content called mangiferin contains anti-cancerous and anti-aging benefits that helps protect the body from cellular damage. The mangos’ kernels, seeds and peels contain the highest concentration of mangiferin. Mangos nutrients aid in preventing sun damage and premature aging and may also be able to hydrate the skin when applied topically. Mango butter extracts, and oils are becoming increasingly more popular in skin care products. You can also apply mango pulp to a face mask and enjoy the fruity smell and moisturizing effects that soften your skin.

In Ayurvedic medicine, the mango is believed to be very nourishing, to help promote proper elimination, soothe the throat and increase fluids in the body by creating moisture. It also is believed to increase the body’s inner heat, which can improve circulation and nourish QI. Mango is considered a miracle sleeping aid before bedtime as B6 can be like a natural melatonin. Considered divine blessings in Indian culture, the mango is believed to bring good fortune and is often offered as a sacred fruit during religious ceremonies and festivals. It is said that by immersing oneself in the spiritual essence of the mango, one can gain clarity, insight, and a deeper understanding of the universe.
