The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery announces partnership with WayHome Music & Arts for Power Ball XIX: Stereo Vision

Alternative pop-duo, Darcys, to perform at
Toronto’s coveted art party

Toronto, ON – The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery today announced WayHome Music & Arts as this year’s entertainment sponsor for Toronto’s most innovative art party, Power Ball XIX, presented by Max Mara, who will take over the east terrace for a pop-up festival experience June 1, 2017. Tickets to Power Ball are now available for purchase at powerball.thepowerplant.org.

Framed by the lake on one end and views of Toronto’s iconic cityscape on the other, Darcys, an alternative pop-duo from Toronto, will perform their latest hits, inspired from Bowie and Chic, then keep the dance floor going with a DJ set aimed to captivate audiences through their unique blend of music, art and style.

We are so happy to be a part of Power Ball XIX and to show our love and support for visual arts on June 1,” said Ryan Howes, Creative Director, Republic Live. “We are honoured to be involved in such an in-depth event that supports both domestic and international artists.”

Accessorizing Darcys performance will be sculptural pieces that recontextualize urban language designed by notable visual artists, Trevor Wheatley and Cosmo Dean that challenge guests to derive their own personal interpretation of wording. Rounding out the WayHome experience is a projection piece by visual artist, Nathan Whitford, whose works use light to explore the gap between nature and technology.

“As a like-minded brand that’s dedicated to supporting the arts and creating an environment for people to embrace music and the arts, WayHome Music & Arts is a natural fit to partner with for Power Ball XIX,” said Gaëtane Verna, Director of The Power Plant. “We are thrilled to host a teaser performance that incorporates visual arts and installations reflective of our theme, Stereo Vision. Darcys have a strong and loyal fan base, not only through their Toronto ties, but on a national scale, and we’re honoured to have them perform at Power Ball.”

Confirmed artists and additional details for Toronto’s most innovative Power Ball XIX: Stereo Vision presented by Max Mara will continue to be announced here. Tickets are on sale now starting at $175 for the general party and $500 for the VIP reception. To purchase tickets, view member tickets, or group packages, please visit powerball.thepowerplant.org.
