The Central Waterfront Neighbourhood Association’s (CWNA) goal is to address issues surrounding the quality of life at the waterfront. They strive to foster the beautification and revitalization of the central waterfront.

The CWNA provides a forum for residents and considers city planning. The area includes Parkside Drive to Coxwell Avenue and the area south of Lakeshore Boulevard. CWNA is a member of the Harbourfront Community Association.

A Speaker Series informs residents and allows them to voice their opinions and concerns. In 2004, speakers have included City Councillor Pam McConnell and Robert Fung, the Chair of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation. Joanna Kidd, naturalist and writer, has spoken on “An Environmental History Of Toronto Bay”, as well as Max Moore and Roger Wilson. Marc Brien also addressed “The Toronto Port Authority and Control of Toronto’s Harbour”.

On Monday, May 17, a Townhall Speaker’s Series Meeting will host Federal candidates for the Trinity- Spadina and Toronto-Centre ridings.

The officers of the CWNA are: Co-Chair: Linda Montgomery; Co-Chair: Margaret Samuel; Treasurer: Larry Papernick, CA; Secretary: Kathleen Ambers; Vice-President Fundraising: Daniel Belanger; and Vice-President Communications: Richard Hu. The Directors are Judy Stewart, Ulla Colgrass, Doreen Polley, Joyce Denyer, Nick Elson, Nonie Sovka, Judy Skolnick, and Nancy Staid.
